As a painter, my work seeks to transport the viewer into an unrealistic, perfect, and ideal world – a place of comfort and solace amidst the pain and sorrow of reality. Through my paintings, I aim to create a space where viewers can escape from the hardships of life and immerse themselves in a world of beauty and tranquillity.
My techniques draw from both Chinese and Western art traditions, blending abstract form with traditional Chinese ink painting narrative. This fusion creates a dynamic collision of styles, contrasting the bold and expressive brushwork of Chinese art with the structured and calculated approach of Western art. The resulting imagery is a transformation of both styles, producing something truly unique and unimaginable.
To achieve this effect, I use materials that are rooted in traditional Chinese art, such as flattened round rice paper, silk, mineral pigments, and seals. These materials not only give my work a sense of authenticity but also serve as an echo of my own identity as a Chinese artist.
Overall, my art strives to offer a sense of comfort and tranquillity, while also exploring the intersection of different artistic traditions. By creating an ideal world through my paintings, I hope to offer viewers a moment of respite from the challenges of life, while also creating a space for contemplation and reflection.
